What is Copy Rising?
It’s a vision for marketing and operational comms that support sustainable growth: a solid brand narrative, interesting storytelling, clear information and ethical writing practices. Deep stories. Authentic words.
Copy Rising is me, Jackie Yeadon. I’m a freelance brand, copywriting and content marketing specialist. I care about quality, ethics and meaning. I work with clients who want to be sustainably successful and, at the same time, use their influence to make the world a better place.
On a practical level, what this means for us is:
- A commitment to honesty
- Careful use of words and facts
- Fact-checking and full disclosure
- Transparency not manipulation
- Admitting when we’re wrong
- Challenging and questioning
About me
I work with businesses, public sector entities and third sector organisations, supporting growth (however that looks for you) with great stories and informative content. My work places importance on quality, clarity, empathy, ethics, reputation, trust, authenticity and long term planning. This approach is driven by my personal values.
I can give a little or a lot, depending on what you need. I’m able to:
- Do the work (researching, interviewing, writing)
- Lead the work (strategy and tactical planning)
- Advise upon the work (holistic collaboration)
- Help you explore and develop the work to its full potential
Going deeper
- I’m a marketing professional, copywriter and strategist with more than two decades of experience.
- I’m based in Lancashire UK and embraced remote / hybrid working in 2008. I’ve worked with clients nationally and internationally.
- I’ve held many writing roles in many sectors, including some that have required me to wield niche topics while juggling regulatory guidelines.
- I’ve worked in-house and for marketing agencies, within marketing teams and as a solo artiste.
- I’ve built content teams and trained writers as well as supported clients’ in-house resources.
- My superpower is that I’m ‘classically trained’ – I brought my background in traditional PR and print journalism into the digital realm. This matters with copy because traditional standards have deep roots.
- My other superpower is an ability to dive to the heart of a brand story and make it relevant, understandable and empathetic.
- My third superpower is – no, only joking!
- Like most copywriters, I’ve written about every topic imaginable, from personal finance and logistics to lifestyle and biodegradable tree guards.
- Like all copywriters, I’ve had favourites – content for clients whose values I share and who are people-focused and Earth-conscious. I’m going to carry on doing this, because it’s fun and satisfying and right.

Retro box set or movie premiere?
Let’s have a conversation. Tell me a bit about your business, your audience, your challenges and your vision, all that. I’ll ask a few questions and explain more about my work. We might even talk about the weather, the weekend, what we’re watching on Netflix.
And if we like how this goes, we can arrange an immersion (or discovery) session. Email me using the form. I’ll get back to you and arrange our first chat.
